Driven by curiosity, guided by compassion, united in citizenship.

King Edward’s is a future-facing, co-educational independent boarding and day school in Surrey, England, with over 400 pupils aged 11 – 18 years.

Honouring our proud heritage of supporting opportunity and inclusiveness, we foster a vibrant School culture where compassion forges human connection, curiosity sparks innovation, and citizenship shapes good character.

We provide an exceptional education that helps every child thrive and reach their full potential, growing within a community proud to be kind and empowered to be happy.

Our pupils are prepared to carry forward our Foundation’s legacy, emerging as the next generation of courageous, informed, empathetic agents of positive change, with the curiosity to explore the world and the values needed to improve it.

United by Diversity since 1553.

BE BOLDLY YOU

We believe that having the freedom to be all that you are and striving to be all that you can be builds confidence and space for inspiring the leaders, inventors, creatives, entrepreneurs, and good citizens of all our futures to develop.

Ambition to achieve

We know that success, however big or small, breeds confidence, and confidence in turn fuels motivation, effort, and, ultimately, personal outcomes that our pupils can be truly proud of.

Combining expert teaching and high academic expectations for all, with individualised support and extension, small class sizes and outstanding pastoral care, we create an environment where pupils develop the confidence, independence and ambition to achieve beyond their expectations.

Strong results 2026

Our balanced, ambitious approach to growth and academic achievement resulted in strong outcomes in both GCSEs and A Levels / BTECs in 2026.

In GCSEs, 45% of exams taken were graded at 9 – 7 (equivalent to A* – A), with 66% graded at 9 – 6 (A* – B), while in A Levels, 40% of our upper 6th’s entries were graded at A* – A; in 5 subjects, all grades awarded were A* – A.

Around two-thirds of pupils progressing to university secured places at Russell Group institutions, including Oxford, Imperial College London and King’s College London. Others have begun career apprenticeships or are pursuing courses in Aerospace Engineering, Interior Design, Music and Theoretical Physics.

Character matters

Good character matters and is an important part of pupil wellbeing and happiness at King Edward’s.

Through our pastoral team, we work to develop emotional literacy, supporting pupils to understand themselves and others, the behaviours, principles and values that will shape their lives, and how they’ll choose to present and conduct themselves beyond School life.

Our aim is for every young person to leave King Edward’s confident, capable, with a deep sense of purpose and desire to contribute to the common good; to travel through life with ambition, courage and deep compassion for others and for themselves.

Co-curricular opportunity for all.

Does your child find happiness giving it their all on the sports field, bringing emotion to audiences from centre stage, sparking curiosity through their love of astronomy, producing the next Spotify hit, or quietly shaping words that inspire and connect fellow humans? Or are they yet to find their 'thing'?

Whatever they enjoy, we encourage every pupil to stay curious, try new things and pursue their unique interests and talents to the full.
Over 50 activities a week, every week - there's something here for every child at every stage.
